German cockroaches have light brown or tan coloration with two black streaks running almost parallel from behind the head to the base of the wings. They are a smaller species of cockroaches, ranging from 1.1 to 1.6cm long. They have wings but can barely fly, although can glide when disturbed. They do like to run instead to travel around.
Why Cockroaches Are A Big Problem
They can reproduce quite rapidly, with females only needing to mate once to produce young. On average they produce 4 to 6 egg cases during their lives, with each case containing approximately 30 to 40 eggs. The egg case is carried for 1 to 2 days before hatching. As adults, German cockroaches can live for about 100 to 200 days. Cockroaches are commonly found indoors, preferring areas that are warmer and humid. They typically, can be found in the kitchens and bathrooms. They can be brought into the home through bags or boxes, and can easily move between units using shared plumbing as a highway. This insect is a scavenger and capable of feed on most food sources that are available, including household items like soap or bindings of books.

Absolute Pest Control utilizes gel bait to rid your home of cockroaches. The gel bait is applied with a syringe-like tool to cracks and crevices where the cockroaches are often hiding. Small dabs of the bait are applied to cupboards, under the sink, and throughout the kitchen.
Advanced Bait Techniques
The cockroaches feed on the bait, but will not be immediately killed by its active ingredients. The adults will go back into unreachable areas where nymphs and egg cases are located. The nymphs will feed on the adult fecal matter and be poisoned. The domino effect will cause a whole colony to be exterminated in around 10 days. A vacuum cleaner is also used to collect live cockroaches that are living behind the fridge or stove. This will expedite the entire process.
