Remote Monitoring Systems
Typically in most commercial and residential properties that have an Integrated Pest Management Plan, there are bait stations throughout the property. Some of those stations will have rodenticide and some will be multi-catch traps depending on the situation and location. Over the years, there have been many changes to the pest control industry including the types of chemicals we are allowed to use. However, in most cases we don’t really know when rodents enter the stations and exactly how many. We can use feeding habits between service visits as an indication, but it’s not an exact science. Interest has increased in using more humane and environmentally conscious options. This is where Remote Monitoring Systems comes into play.
RMS or Remote Monitoring Systems, are bait stations that have sensors inside the bait stations that alert the technician to when a rodent enters the stations. Once a notification goes off the technician or facility manager can quickly remove the rodent and investigate the cause immediately. Each station around a property is numbered or named so they can be documented separately. This provides the technician and property owners more information about the number of rodents and their habits. Being able to respond to rodent activity in such a timely manner can ensure that infestations never occur and problems are dealt with quickly.
These sensors can also be placed in larger traps for squirrels, raccoons, porcupines, and skunks. By using a sensor we no longer require the homeowner to check on the trap daily or have a technician stop by to inspect, saving everyone a little bit of time. We will receive notifications right away when the trap has caught an animal and can relocate it as soon as possible, causing less stress on the animal. It’s efficient and worry free!
Absolute Pest Control is leading the industry in Calgary by testing the newest technology available and providing the best options for our customers. We will integrate this technology into our current programs, providing a new alternative for businesses and homeowners that want detailed data reports and non-rodenticide options.
